Accessibility as a cornerstone of responsible innovation
At Synapsia, innovation means building technology that listens, includes, and respects. Our mission is to develop AI solutions that not only enhance human capabilities but also adapt to diverse contexts and individual needs. For us, digital accessibility is not an afterthought—it’s a fundamental component of project quality and ethical technology.
The synapsia.ai website reflects this vision. It showcases our work and serves as a strategic access point for partners, institutions, and communities. In line with the European Accessibility Act, we are committed to making all content accessible, regardless of users’ abilities, devices, or assistive technologies.
Conformance status
The synapsia.ai website currently meets an advanced level of conformance with the requirements set out by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and adheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 – Level AA.Â
This assessment reflects a process of continuous improvement. Most enhancements have already been implemented, while a few minor elements are still being refined and will be completed by the end of 2025. The accessibility upgrade process is active and under constant review.
Implemented improvements
In spring 2025, following an internal technical review, we implemented several upgrades to enhance user experience and website accessibility:
- The semantic structure of the code was strengthened through the use of appropriate HTML5 tags and a correct heading hierarchy, making navigation clearer and more accessible, especially for users relying on assistive technologies.
- Areas with low color contrast were corrected to improve readability, especially for users with visual impairments.
- All informative images have been provided with meaningful alternative text, improving the experience for screen reader users.
- Contact forms and interactive fields were reviewed to include clear labels, instructions, and error messages.
- Keyboard navigation was improved with visible focus states and consistent pathways.
- The lang attribute is now correctly defined across all language versions, enhancing automatic content rendering.
Ongoing improvements
Some content and features in the website are still being enhanced and will be finalised by the end of 2025. These include:
- Adding subtitles, transcripts, and, when needed, audio descriptions to video and multimedia content.
- Gradually converting PDF documents found in secondary sections into accessible PDF/UA formats or replacing them with equivalent HTML content.
